A Message from the Director

Paul

1

In just three decades, Hospice care has quietly revolutionized the way people die in America by honoring wishes and bringing peace, dignity, and comfort to millions of patients and families.
Hospice of North Idaho has been a part of this compassionate care revolution for over 25 years.

What makes hospice care unlike any other?

Our interdisciplinary team of nurses, social workers, home health aides, bereavement counselors, volunteers, chaplains and physicians work to provide expert medical and compassionate care at the end of life. Hospice care emphasizes pain and symptom management, and psychosocial/spiritual support to ease difficult physical and emotional challenges and support to the bereaved.

This holistic approach is tailored to meet the needs and wishes of the individual. Patients and families are given the tools to help cope with terminal illness in a meaningful way. It is recognized that much of the pain and sense of hopelessness that accompany a life-limiting illness is eased by Hospice care.

Hospice of North Idaho lives out the hospice philosophy of care daily by directing it resources to supporting the terminally ill in gaining access to the medical care, social support and spiritual counsel they need. Every person who is faced with a life limiting illness matters to the last moment of their life, and Hospice of North Idaho will be available for as long as it's needed.
