We are here to serve you and your loved ones with compassionate care, dignity and comfort.

Coping with a life-limiting illness is challenging. Many questions come up such as:

  • How will I maintain my physical comfort and control my pain?
  • How will I not be a burden to my family or friends?
  • How can I maintain a sense of self worth?
  • How can I fulfill personal goals/pleasures?
  • What kind of support will be available for my family?

With hospice care, you don't have to face these questions and challenges alone. Hospice of North Idaho provides a system of care and support for dying people and their families so that people with a life limiting illness can focus on life and live each day to the fullest. With pain and other symptoms under control people enjoy the time they have left and have the support to navigate through the many other important details of their lives.

This website provides you with an introduction to our organization and hospice care. Please feel free to contact us with any question you may have.

Care is directed by an interdisciplinary team that includes the primary physician, Hospice medical director, registered nurse, and medical social worker. You may also utilize others of our hospice team i.e certified nurse's aides, grief counselors, volunteers, chaplains, dietitian, occupational therapist, speech therapist, physical therapist, pharmacist and other health professionals.

Visits are routinely made to the home or other care settings by your primary care team (a Registered Nurse and Social Worker).

A registered nurse is available 24 hours a day for emergent concerns. The Hospice staff will work to ensure adequate pain and symptom management, provide emotional and spiritual support, advocate for financial concerns and the need for added community.
